What is the minimum HSRT score to get into nursing school?
Published minimums range from 60 (M State) to 74 (Anoka-Ramsey CC). Texas programs typically don't publish a minimum, they use HSRT scores for competitive ranking.
What is a good HSRT score?
A score of 75 or above is generally competitive at most programs. Targeting 78–82 gives you a meaningful buffer above published minimums.
How is the HSRT scored?
The HSRT reports a total score and six subscale scores. Your total is the percentage of items answered correctly. Programs set their own minimum total score cutoffs.
How long should I prepare for the HSRT?
4–6 weeks of structured daily practice (30–45 min/day) produces meaningful improvement. Critical thinking skills respond to consistent practice, not cramming.
