What is the minimum HSRT score to get into nursing school?
Published minimums range from 60 (M State) to 74 (Anoka-Ramsey CC). Texas programs typically don't publish a minimum — they use HSRT scores for competitive ranking.
What is a good HSRT score?
A score of 75 or above is generally competitive at most programs. Targeting 78–82 gives you a meaningful buffer above published minimums.
How is the HSRT scored?
The HSRT reports a total score and six subscale scores. Your total is the percentage of items answered correctly. Programs set their own minimum total score cutoffs.
How long does it take to improve your HSRT score?
4–6 weeks of structured daily practice (30–45 min/day) produces meaningful improvement. Critical thinking skills respond to consistent practice, not cramming.
